Fantasy Chicken galbi~!

 

There are many good restaurants near Woosong University. One of the those places is "일미Illmi".일미 is the restaurant that sells chicken galbi, pajeon, and makgeolli. Many Woosong students go to 일미, especially, the nursing department students. This is because 일미 costs less than other restaurants and it is near WS. 일미 is in front of the Woosong art building. The students' favorite food on the menu is chicken galbi. It tastes good not only chicken galbi, but also chicken galbi fried rice. Especially, if you add cheese on fried rice when you eat chicken galbi fried rice, you experience fantasy.

In addition to chicken galbi, pajeon and makgeolli taste good. My favorite makgeolli is chestnut makgeolli, because it is very sweet and delicious. If you don’t drink chest nut Makgeolli when you go to 일미, you will regret it.

Also, 일미’s owner is very kind and her memory is good. She remembers many customers and it makes customers happy. 일미 is good for meeting because 일미’s size is enough to accommodate many people. For example, the nursing department had its first meeting between freshmen, sophomores, and seniors in 일미.

Also, a few days ago, I went to 일미 with Sue, Jane, and Truth to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving day.

Like this, 일미 is good for meeting with friends and tasting good food!

Mutiple Awesome Library

Woosong University’s west campus library is in front of the main gate of WS west campus. Originally, library’s desks and chairs were old things that were made of hard wood.

However, the library was newly changed because it was remodeled from last semester. There are wide partition desks, wheeled chairs, many computers, DVD rooms, and meeting rooms. It is simple to use library. If you are a WS University student, enter by checking your student ID card. If you aren’t, make a library ID card. Once you enter, there are a total of six floors.

 

1st floor

The 1^st floor is like a waiting room and the 2^nd floor is classrooms for foreigners.

You can use desk top, borrow a notebook, and watch movies on the 3^rd floor. Also, you are able to have meeting in the two meeting rooms. If you want to use a computer, reserve a seat at seat checker. And if you want to borrow a notebook, watch movies, or use meeting rooms, write an application and take your ID card to the information clerk.

The 4^th floor is the study room like a reading room. There are many partition desks. And when you feel tired, you can rest in the lounge in front of the study room. There is a vending machine, some sofas in lounge.

5^th and 6^th floor of the library is filled with many books. If you want to borrow books, show your ID card to information clerk and sign up on the rental registration paper. The changed library is simpler and more convenient than before.

I’m very delighted that I can use expensive devices as a nursing department student, because nursing department students have to do evening study in the library. So the remodeled library is awesome!

     Did you enjoy Chuseok that is the biggest holiday in Korea? We tend to eat more food than we usually do. Moreover the food that we eat during Chuseok is made with oil. So it is very high in calories. In this situation, you feel that you need to go on a diet and exercise. I recommend that you go to WS Sport Center that is located in Information Science building.

 

     If you enter the building, you can find it out immediately. Its shape is triangle. At the entrance, there is blood pressure monitor and InBody, which analyzes body composition. Beside the instruments, there is maintenance. The next to these, there are many kinds of sporting goods such as stationary bike, running machine, dumbbell, and etc.

     WSU manages the sport center for improving health for students, faculties, as well as local residents. Monthly fee for WSU students is 20,000won, for WSU faculties also 20,000won too, and for local residents 40,000won. If you pay the fee for 3 months, it can be cheaper than paying for 1 month. It is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during weekdays, and from 8 a.m. on Saturday, and it is close on Sundays and holidays. You should wear fitness clothing and sneakers.

     There are also shower rooms. So you can exercise whenever you want. After sweaty exercise, you can go to shower room and shower and then you go to the next class with fresh brain, light body, and calm mind.

In Woosong University, there are a lot of self-developing programs.

One of these programs is ‘Woosong LeadersProgram,"WLP"’and we are participating in WLP. This program is a course that makes us improve our leadership skills and teaches self discipline methods.

We have decided to participate in this program to improve leadership skills and make relationships with other departments' students. Before we joined, we thought that we were a big fish in a little pond. So, we joined during last summer vacation. We took an orientation course for 4 days in east campus of Woosong University. Through this orientation, we met many other department friends, learned timed discipline methods, and made the outline of our project. Our project must be conducted to improve the welfare of WS in our minds.

This program is continued until January, 2013 and we also take an additional course about skills for good leadership and self discipline. This class meets once a month. At first, we regretted it because we thought that we spend too much time with this program. However, we learned the methods to use time properly, and we have become people who think more widely and deeply. So there is pressure to participate in this program. And we are anticipating upcoming courses and projects.

Yummy Yummy Sol Bakery

Solpine Bakery in “Woosong University”.

In Woosong University, there is a bakery. It is Solpine Bakery.

It is located at Woosong tower in west campus of the university.

When students in Woosong are hungry and want to eat something delicious, often go to the bakery. I often go there too.

 

The bakery has many tables so we enjoy our refreshing time with friends over the bread.

There are many kinds of bread, Baguette, sweet potato pie, triangle toast, rice baguette etc.

Triangle toast and rice baguette are my favorites.

Triangle toast is sweet and soft. The surface of triangle is very sweet and hard. But when you bite the bread, you can feel the soft inside. It is only 1,200 won.

Rice baguette has hard and tough surface and it has cheese in it. If you like cheese, I bet you like this bread. The harmony with bread and cheese is very fantastic.

The bakery also has coffee and tea. The beverages are cheaper than other coffee shop. Especially I like lemonade out of them.

If you like bread and want to talk with friends, why don’t you come to Solpine bakery and enjoy a lot of delicious bread and beverages.

     Hello everyone, today I’m going to introduce cool café near WSU. The name of the café is EDIYA COFFEE. It means “the only emperor of the state” as well as the name of the tribe of Ethiopia that is the cradle of the coffee. It shows that they want to make the best coffee brand.

     The 1^st EDIYA COFFEE has been located in CAU since 2001. Now in 2012, it has 740 chain stores and it is considered as the coffee brand that has the most chain stores in Korea. EDIYA COFFEE near WSU is 374^th franchisee of it and it was founded on 19 May, 2010. Its address is Deajeon Dong-gu Jayang-dong 141-20.

     One of the reasons why WSU students love it is snug interior. When you enter the café, first you can smell the aroma of the freshly-brewed coffee and you will love the interior. There are yellowish small wood tables and tiny but soft and comfortable chairs. The interior is very cute and snug and make us feel like staying together.

     The beverage and desert are absolutely delicious. There are many kinds of beverage such as varieties of coffee, flatccino, smothie, chocolate, and etc. My friends and I love Mint chocolate and Green tea flatccino. The above picture is the Mint chocolate. Its price is 4,300won. There are awesome bagels, pretzels, waffles, and cakes, however I’ve never tried to eat them yet. Sometimes I want to try to eat them.

     EDIYA COFFEE issues coupons. There are 12 blank spots in it. When you order any menu, they give you new coupon or stamp your coupon. If you fill it with the stamp, it can be changed with some beverage which is less than 3,000won. The only caution is you should get the stamp from the chain store where you will exchange your coupon with the beverage more than two times.

     EDIYA COFFEE is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekends. Why don’t you go to EDIYA COFFEE on a languid afternoon?
